Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention relates to a method of determining speed of rotation of a motor (1). The method involves collecting samples (xn) with a measuring sensor (2) at a sampling frequency (fs) set on the basis of mechanical vibration of the motor (1), for the duration of a measurement period (T) and storing the samples (xn) in the memory of a data carrier (4) as measurement data of a fixed format. The speed of rotation of the motor (1) is determined from the measurement data by determining the cycle length of a periodic vibration signal in the time domain by means of a maximum likelihood estimate calculated by maximizing a maximum likehood funtion (J) adjusted to the measurement …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 19, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 19, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 19, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
