Abstract From the Canadian patent

Tracking the health status of a patient includes entering a plurality of health record signals (201). Each signal comprises a record of measurement of a predetermined health indicative parameter considered to be in a normal range related to the health status of the patient taken at different times (202). The health record signals are stored in memory (30). The stored health record signals are processed (14) to project a possible trend for the predetermined health parameter (203) to assume a value in the abnormal range. A futur abnormal indication signal is provided when the trend forecasts the predetermined parameter will assume a value in the abnormal range (204).

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 5, 2001 and granted May 7, 2013. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 5, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 5, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
