In a wireless communication system using multiple antennas at the transmitter and multiple antennas at the receiver with a sufficiently large , number of, antennas and/or diversity order the same performance that is obtainable when employing instantaneous rate indication feedback can be attained without any such, short-term feedback by adjusting the data rate of each transmit antenna according, to a prescribed function. The prescribed function does not depend on the shortterm state of the channel, but instead only depends on its long-term statistics. which may be fed back from the receiver to the transmitter at relatively lengthy, intervals.

Why it's free to use
- Filed August 29, 2002. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 29, 2022.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 29, 2024.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
