Abstract From the Canadian patent

Various methods, systems and products are disclosed for providing an improved welding system which substantially improves the continuous operation of an automated welding system by increasing the amount of time between maintenance shutdowns. A welding nozzle (28) and a portion of its related diffuser (32) is dipped into a bath (12) of fluid each time the automated welding system moves through a welding cycle. Spatter accumulation is remove via an electromagnetic field that magnetically pulls the spatter without direct contact with the nozzle or diffuser. The continuous electrode used for welding is lubricated. Prior to lubrication, this continuous electrode may be cleaned.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed February 7, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended February 7, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 7, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
