Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention comprises a continuous hot rolling method in which a rear end portion of a preceding metal block and a fore end portion of a succeeding metal block are cut and the metal blocks are joined to each other by heating and pressing followed by a finish rolling. The joined portion is cooled before or after removal of the poor joined portion. Cooling may be effected by a cooling nodule that applies a cooling medium at the location where the poor joined portion is removed.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 15, 1994. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 15, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 15, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
