Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to several cells for current generation especially fuel , cells that are connected in series. Diodes are connected in parallel to said fuel cells in such a way that current (I) generated by the fuel cells cannot cause any short circuit. If one of the cells fails as a result of a defect the current flows through a parallel-connected diode due to the fact that the diodes then form the low ohmic resistance. In case of a failure this makes it , possible to automatically short-circuit the defective cells in a simple and economical manner.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed February 15, 2000. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended February 15, 2020.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 15, 2022.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
