A method for rejecting the magnetic response of surrounding biological tissues, in, measuring the magnetic susceptibility response of a region of interest in a patient, to, detect the presence of ferromagnetic foreign bodies. The magnetic response of the, surrounding tissues is rejected by defining a statistically determined normal range of, magnetic susceptibility responses or by rejecting magnetic field responses characteristic, of materials with isotropic magnetization properties.

Why it's free to use
- Filed August 8, 2002. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 8, 2022.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 8, 2024.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
