Abstract From the Canadian patent

A sampled grating structure (12) is used to provide the necessary wavelength selection for a multiple wavelength resonator such as a cascaded Raman , resonator (CRR). The grating structure (12) may include a plurality of grating sections (16) that have the same grating pitch and that are equally spaced apart along the length of the grating. Alternatively the grating structure , (12) may be chirped having a plurality of contiguous grating sections (30) each with a substantially identical grating pitch that changes linearly over its length. The sampled grating (12) is combined with a second reflector (14) to provide resonance within a gain medium at a plurality of desired wavelengths. …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed January 17, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended January 17, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 17, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
