An afocal image rotation device for translating a 3D image of an object along, and selectively rotating the image about an, optical axis. The device includes, in one example a first, refractive mechanism for inverting an image about a first axis normal to the optical axis; a second refractive mechanism for inverting the image about a second axis normal to the optical axis where the first and second mechanisms are optically coupled in series along the optical axis. The device also includes a mechanism for selectively rotating the refractive mechanisms relative to one another about the optical axis. All the rays exiting the rotation device bear the same angular and spatial relationship to one …

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 6, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 6, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 6, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
