Abstract From the Canadian patent

An actuator structure for concurrently unlatching a pair (20 22) of sash tilt , latches (24). The actuator structure includes a housing mounted to a sash which slides within a window frame (62) a winder (100) rotatably connected to the housing and extending into an interior of the sash the winder (100) , having a diametral slot (102) therein. The actuator structure further includes a filament (50) slidingly received within the slot (102) with ends (52) of the filament (50) connected to the latches (24). As the winder (100) is rotated in a first direction, the filament coils around the winder to draw the latches (24) inwardly, thereby releasing the sash (20 22) from the frame (62).

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 15, 2000. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 15, 2020.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 15, 2022.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
