The invention concerns an alloy containing at least 95 wt. % of zirconium and between 0.01 and 0.1 wt. % of sulphur and optionally at least one of the elements from the group consisting of: tin iron, chromium, hafnium, niobium, nickel oxygen, vanadium, the rest of the alloy consisting of the inevitable impurities. Sulphur is present in the alloy in dissolved state thereby improving deformation endurance and in the form of fine precipitates evenly distributed thereby improving corrosion and sun burst. Resistance. The alloy can be thermally treated by quench annealing in phase .beta. followed by hardening or by being maintained at a temperature less than 950 ·C to produce a transformation in …

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 21, 2000. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 21, 2020.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 21, 2022.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
