A computer-based aggregated security investment service (14) interacts with one or more customers (12) via one or more communication links (18). The service allows multiple customers (12) to execute aggregated purchase orders of securities in dollar increments. Customers (12) setting up accounts have the ability to select numerous different types of individual joint, conventional, or tax advantaged accounts. The present invention also provides a mechanism for reducing the exposure of the investment service to purchases of securities with fluctuating prices by staggering share purchases as two or more sub-orders.

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 20, 2000. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 20, 2020.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 20, 2022.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
