In a tool for controlling the escape of water from a toilet reservoir it is known to have a rod float is guided through a bracket attached to the overflow vent and controls the up and down motion of the ball cock that when down shuts off the water escape. In this invention a coil spring is affixed to the rod between the ball cock and the guide bracket. In contrast to the ball cock floating down on top of released water the ball cock is projected through the. water to the escape aperture immediately upon release of the toilet flush handle prohibiting the escape of unnecessary waste water.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 18, 2002. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 18, 2022.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 18, 2024.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
