Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention is directed to a semi-solid formulation comprising a lipid-regulating agent. Said formulation is prepared by solubilizing said lipid-regulating agent in one or more liquid components to form a clear liquid solution, then solidifying said solution by adding one or more solid or semisolid components to said solution to form a semi-solid formulation. Said formulation can melt or dissolve upon mixing with a bulk aqueous medium. The resulting formulation results in an increase in drug solubility and oral bioavailability, and an improved dissolution rate.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 8, 2000. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 8, 2020.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 8, 2022.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
