Abstract From the Canadian patent

This application concerns the geometric modeling of heterogeneous formations such as a geological structure that may comprise objects such as fractures channels, etc. and whose goal is to generalize the pixel-based gradual deformation method to Boolean models with or without geometric constraint. Objects being distributed in an area of a heterogeneous formation according to an ad hoc Poisson point pattern with a point density .lambda.(x) which varies as a function of their position (x) in the area a realization of a uniform random vector is formed according to which the position of each object is defined while respecting the .lambda.(x) density and the uniform random vector is gradually …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 6, 2002 and granted January 8, 2013. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 6, 2022.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 6, 2024.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
