An electrode-membrane combination for use in a fuel cell and providing improved power outputs and resistance to poisoning. Multiple embodiments are described which generally involve use of a vapor deposited zone or layer of one or more catalytically active metals. Vapor deposition can be carried out by, for example, sputtering or physical vapor deposition. An electrodemembrane combination comprising: at least one reactant diffusive electronically conductive electrode comprising at least one first catalytically active metal and at least one ionically conductive polymer; and at least one ionically conductive membrane contacting the electrode to form an electrode-membrane interfacial …

Why it's free to use
- Filed June 16, 2000. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 16, 2020.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 16, 2022.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
