Abstract From the Canadian patent

Single cell (10) laminated polymeric rechargeable battery sheets are folded in irregularly alternating directions (24 and 26) about parallel fold axes to provide battery cell structures presenting available terminal locations (23 and 25) requiring reduced collector element current travel distance to thereby significantly reduce battery impedance. An embodiment enables the use of equilateral cell sheets (21) which are folded about orthogonal axes in two dimensions to yield battery cells with exceptionally high ratios of active area to collector-origin impedance.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 17, 2000. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 17, 2020.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 17, 2022.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
