Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a combustible shaped ammunition part such as a propellant case or a propellant charge container wherein the combustible shaped ammunition part contains an erosion-reducing admixture. To ensure that the erosion-reducing admixture leads to a higher reduction in the erosion effect of the propellant powder in the shaped ammunition part as compared to known admixtures the invention comprises using an oxide of one of the elements of rare earth in particular La2O3, CeO2, Y2O3 and/or one of the elements of the 6th subgroup in the periodic system especially MoO3 or WO3 and/or poly oxy methylene (POM).

Why it's free to use

  • Filed January 30, 2002 and granted November 27, 2012. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended January 30, 2022.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 30, 2024.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
