Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for reducing the test cycle time and for improving the measuring accuracy of a leak testing process of a container. The process comprises the steps of providing a pressure difference as an initial predetermined pressure between the exterior of a closed container and the interior of the closed container without destroying the integrity of the container. Why it's free to use

  • Filed January 23, 1990 and granted October 14, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended January 23, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 23, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
