Abstract From the Canadian patent

In a method for setting up a digital, synchronous cross-connect connection between data transmission units that are connected to interfaces of user devices, asynchronous interfaces are allocated an additive neutral element, and data signals that have been received in a data transmission unit via various data channels are added together. This makes it possible to accommodate even asynchronous subscribers in a synchronous cross-connect connection.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 17, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 17, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 17, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
