Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention describes an aqueous monomer/polymer system in which monomers including on the one hand polymerization initiators such as diacyl peroxides or others and on the other hand polymerization activators such as tertiary arylaliphatic amines or others are incorporated into an aqueous polymer dispersion with swelling. Individually and in a mixture the individual, monomer/polymer components are stable on storage. Curing (polymerization) begins only after the water has evaporated from the dispersion, in the course of its filming. The aqueous monomer/polymer systems are used as binders for road marking paints, floor coating compositions, coating materials and sealing compositions.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 18, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 18, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 18, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
