The invention provides a process for producing a membrane electrode assembly for fuel cells containing a polymer electrolyte membrane having a first and a second surface parallel to each other said first surface forming a firm composite with a first catalyst layer and a first water repellent gas distribution layer and said second surface forming a firm composite with a second catalyst layer and a second water repellent gas distribution layer. The catalyst layers are prepared by using inks containing electrocatalysts one or more solvents, proton-conducting ionomer and optionally water repelling agents and pore-forming agents. The process is characterised in that the two catalyst layers are …

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 11, 2001 and granted June 26, 2012. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 11, 2021.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 11, 2023.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
