According to the instant invention a portion of the sample is irradiated, with light at a predetermined wavelength or within a predetermined range of wavelengths. The incident light causes those areas of the sample that are occupied by, stone cells to fluoresce strongly relative to the background matrix of wood pulp or paper. The strongly fluorescing stone cells are registered digitally using a detector, or are, observed visually by an operator viewing the sample through an ocular device. Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 26, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 26, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 26, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
