Abstract From the Canadian patent

A technique for resetting an HPF for improving its settling time in response to a sharp transition in its input signal by rapid input and clocking through , the HPF of new data samples after occurrence of the sharp transition. The new data samples comprise an artifical ramp representative of the expected average slope of the input signal that should be maintained after occurence of the sharp transition. The artificial ramp can be generated using "a priori" knowledge of the expected average slope of the input signal or alternatively, can be generated using a direct measurement of the slope of the input signal at the time the HPF is to be reset. In the event that both the direct slope …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 22, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 22, 2019.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 22, 2021.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
