Abstract From the Canadian patent

The method allows to search up for an element through a sorted table. However, instead of splitting the searched table in two as in, the case of binary searches, a method according to the present invention includes splitting the searched table (or list) in three in four, or in any, quantity fit for the search.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 10, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 10, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 10, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
