i>C. pneumoniae genome sequence and analysis of the encoded polypeptides and RNAs are provided. The C. pneumoniae gene nucleic acid compositions find use in identifying homologous or related proteins and the DNA sequences encoding such proteins; in producing compositions that modulate the expression or function of the protein; and in studying associated physiological pathways. In addition, modulation of the gene activity in vivo is used for prophylactic and therapeutic purposes, such as identification of cell type based on expression, and the like.

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 12, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 12, 2019.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 12, 2021.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
