Abstract From the Canadian patent

A cover for concealing drive structure mounted to a top surface of a mower cutting, deck is provided. The cover allows access to that structure without removal from the cutting, deck. Non-removal is permitted because the cover consists of first and second members, interconnected through a living hinge. Flexure of one member relative to the other permits, access to the structure including a secondary drive belt so that routine maintenance may be, performed. Additionally the hinge increases the overall cost-effectiveness of the design due, to the cover's one-piece construction.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 12, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 12, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 12, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
