Abstract From the Canadian patent

Described are setting and hardening, accelerators for hydraulic binders and said binder comprising compositions that are free of sulfates alkali, metals and chlorides. The setting and hardening accelerators comprise, as main component water-soluble, fluoride comprising aluminum salts and optionally complexing agents and/or amines. In comparison with alkaline accelerators said accelerators result in an essential shortening of the setting time and a fast development of compressive strengths. In comparison with commercially available alkali-free accelerators based on aluminum sulfate and organic acids, by the accelerator of the present invention the later formation of ettringite is prevented.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 7, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 7, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 7, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
