Abstract From the Canadian patent

A gas operated lantern includes a muffler assembly which promotes improved mixing of air and fuel allowing for quieter, operation. This may be particularly beneficial in gas operated lanterns having relatively short fuel delivery systems where, fuel and air may otherwise not be properly mixed before burning. The muffler assembly may include a flat disk having a plurality of openings disposed in a holder. As air and fuel flow through the disk, turbulence is created, mixing the air and fuel. The holder may be a venturi body and may include air holes for allowing air into the system.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 15, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 15, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 15, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
