A non-invasive blood pressure sensor (22) includes a first fluid filled sensing chamber (A) having a diaphragm (168). A first transducer (26a) is fluidly coupled to the first sensing chamber (A) to sense fluid pressure within the first chamber (A). A flexible body conformable wall (164) surrounds the sensing chamber (A). The wall (164) applies force to the artery while preventing pressure in a direction generally parallel to the artery from being applied to the sensing chamber (A). The flexible body conformable wall (164) includes a second fluid filled chamber (F). A second transducer (26b) fluidly coupled to the second chamber (F) senses fluid pressure in the second chamber (F). …

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 18, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 18, 2019.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 18, 2021.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
