The present invention provides methods for assessing cardiovascular status in an individual, which comprise determining the sequence at one or more polymorphic positions within the human genes encoding ACE AT1, AGT, renin, aldosterone synthase, type-2 angiotensin II receptor endothelin receptor, and , .beta.-adrenoceptor. The invention also provides isolated nucleic acids encoding polymorphisms in genes encoding ACE AT1, AGT, renin, aldosterone , synthase type-2 angiotensin II receptor, endothelin receptor and .beta.adrenoceptor, nucleic acid probes that hybridized to polymorphic positions kits for the prediction of cardiovascular status and nucleic acid and peptide , targets for use in …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 13, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 13, 2019.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 13, 2021.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
