Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention seeks to enhance the modified fast convolution algorithm in order to increase the flexibility of the algorithm. In an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a folding unit is introduced as a preprocessing stage prior to the IDFT in the receiver. The folding unit adds outer frequency components onto inner frequency components in the frequency domain in order to produce a reduced set of frequency components. In an alternative embodiment, an unfolding unit is introduced as a post-processing stage after the DFT in the transmitter. The unfolding unit expands the set of the set of frequency components by adding translated original components outside the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 24, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended September 24, 2019.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 24, 2021.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
