This invention relates to the discovery that for an observer in translational rotational or, gravitational motion, a linearly polarized plane wave has two modes of propagation in a sta-, tionary, homogeneous and isotropic medium. The first mode is characterized by polarization, at right angles to the direction of propagation and has a speed that is controlled by the ma-, terial constants of the medium. The second mode is characterized by polarization along the, propagation direction and has a speed that is controlled by the motion of the observer. The, latter mode is the subject of this invention.

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 8, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 8, 2021.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 8, 2023.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
