Abstract From the Canadian patent

In an apparatus for treating liquid with electromagnetic flux coils (L1, L2 , and L3) surround a pipe (16) and are excited by a switching circuit (72) that includes a triode switch turned on and off in response to the voltage applied to the coil (L1, L2 and L3) such that during operative half cycles current is conducted through the coils (L1, L2 and L3) initially and then substantially , before the end of each half cycle the circuit causes an open condition during which current builds up in the coils (L1 L2 and L3). This produces a ringing , current in and ringing voltage across each coil (L1 L2 and L3) and consequent , ringing electromagnetic flux in the liquid passing through the pipe …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 30, 1999 and granted October 7, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended June 30, 2019.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 30, 2021.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
