A distribution system including a virtual inventory system for supplying multiple products to multiple retailers is provided. The distribution, system includes an inventory storage area subdivided into multiple dedicated retailer areas called virtual inventories which store a particular retailer's inventory. An order fulfillment system receives orders form a particular retailer and ships products from the retailer's virtual inventory to the destination directed by the retailer such as to the retailer or to a customer.
