Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a method for the heat treatment of solids (3) especially waste products, during which the solids (3) in a first stage (5) are burnt/gasified or pyrolysed in the presence of an oxygen deficiency after , which the exhaust gases (6) resulting from the first stage (5) are mixed in a secondary combustion chamber (14) with an oxygenated gaseous medium (15) and are fully burnt. Before being mixed with the oxygenated medium the exhaust gases (6) resulting from the first stage (5) are actively homogenized in a mixing stage (7) with addition of a gaseous medium (8) containing little or no oxygen.
