Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a device for displacing the moveable parts of rail switches or crossings in which a plurality of hydraulic cylinder piston assemblies are each connected in series. Said assemblies engage in the longitudinal direction of the rails in an offset manner. At least one pressure controlled directional or seat valve (9) which can be adjusted is inserted in the line (8). The line connects the series connected hydraulic cylinder piston assemblies (1 to 4). Said directional or seat valve blocks the connection to the next cylinder piston assembly when a preset differential pressure is exceeded.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 31, 1999 and granted May 6, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 31, 2019.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 31, 2021.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
