This invention relates to a means of modifying the undesirable exhaust retort on vehicles, using engine compression braking systems from an objectional loud bark to an, inaudible audio signal. This is accomplished through automatically or manually selecting, a bypass mode for the exhaust gas flow during the compression interval. This re-routing, of the flow forces the compressed gasses to flow through a process of alignment orifices, under slight compression developing a condition known as flow coherence. The compression is in place just during the required phase of braking.

Why it's free to use
- Filed December 18, 2000. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 18, 2020.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 18, 2022.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
