This invention relates generally to a method for controlling the pore size pore size distribution and porosity of aluminum-oxide based ceramics through the choice of substituents on carboxylate-alumoxanes and aluminum-oxide nanoparticles. The method allows for the formation of intra-granular pores in the nanometer range to be created in alumina and aluminum oxide ceramic bodies. The control over pore size and pore size distribution is accomplished through the use of different chemical substituents on the carboxylatealumoxanes and aluminum-oxide nanoparticles. The size and distribution of pores within the alumina-oxide ceramic are dependent on the identity of the carboxylate …

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 26, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 26, 2019.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 26, 2021.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
