The invention concerns electronic labels each associated with a product for its identification. The invention is characterised in that the label comprises a device for modifying the impedance returned on the antenna using a variable modulation resistor (26') and/or a tuning capacitor (16') with variable capacitance whose values are modified by a circuit (30) based on certain parameters such as the supply voltage Vdd the label operating conditions, the binary messages to be transmitted to the reading device. Thus it is possible to adapt the modulation resistor (26') and the tuning capacitor (16') to obtain optimal operating conditions with respect to the electronic label intended application.

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 15, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 15, 2019.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 15, 2021.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
