The invention relates to a method for producing fine powder preferably having a spherical habit by atomizing molten materials with gases. In order to economically manufacture fine, gas atomized powder in addition to avoiding standstill times caused by clogging due to impure molten materials and by freezing due to heat loss, the invention provides that the molten material (5) flows out of a molten material nozzle (4) with an essentially rectangular outflow cross-section (8) in the form of a film (6). Afterwards the molten , material, together with an atomizing gas flows out of a linear Laval nozzle , (3) through a firstly converging and then diverging gas nozzle (3) having an …

Why it's free to use
- Filed December 14, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 14, 2018.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 14, 2020.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
