Abstract From the Canadian patent

A liquid sensing alarm for liquid level control systems includes a conductive circuit that is normally in an "On" condition. An alarm signal generator is connected to the conductive circuit. The alarm signal generator is triggered when the conductive circuit is switched to an "Off" condition. A liquid flow path is provided in the conductive circuit with liquid rising in the liquid flow path breaking the circuit to switch the circuit to an "Off" condition thereby causing the alarm signal generator to generate an alarm signal. An alarm condition is also triggered if the liquid sensing alarm ceases to function properly due to a malfunction of one of the system components.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 22, 2000. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 22, 2020.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 22, 2022.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
