The weighting of transmission paths (U) of a communications network KN in which information is transmitted at different data rates is carried out in accordance with a weighting rule whose weighting work has an essentially linear dependence on the capacity MaxCR of the respective transmission path U. The weighting work thus remains limited even for transmission paths U with a high capacity MaxCR.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 24, 2000. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 24, 2020.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 24, 2022.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
