An electromagnetic solenoid includes a housing enclosing an electromagnetic coil assembly (16). An armature (20) is disposed within the electromagnetic coil assembly (16). An end (14) of the housing is provided with an annular groove (64). A nut (68) is selectively received by the groove for varying the magnetic path of the coil assembly (16). Adjustment of the nut (68) thereby sets the solenoid at a predetermined armature activation force accounting for manufacturing tolerance of the solenoid components as well as variations in the electric current supplied to the coil assembly (16).

Why it's free to use
- Filed September 22, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended September 22, 2018.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 22, 2020.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
