Abstract From the Canadian patent

A process is disclosed for manufacture of reinforced composites. This method provides a process that allows for the direct mixing of discontinuous reinforcement such as wet chopped strands of glass fibers or continuous reinforcement such as glass strands, with an aqueous suspension of a solution polymerized polymer, such as polyvinyl chloride. The process results in a costeffective means for reinforcing means for reinforcing polymers such as PVC while simultaneously substantially improving properties such as impact strength, stiffness and moldability without the need for a binder.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 3, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 3, 2018.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 3, 2020.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
