Abstract From the Canadian patent

Landscaping lights include, in combination a concrete, walkway and a plurality of recessed light receptacles embedded in the concrete walkway. Each recessed light receptacle has a power connection adapted to provide power to illuminate a light and a recessed closure receiving lip. A lens closure is provided for each of the recessed light receptacles. The lens closure is flush with the concrete walkway when engaging the closure receiving lip. The lights are visible through freshly fallen snow, and as the concrete walkways are shovelled these, lights remain accessible throughout the winter to provide aesthetic enhancement along with necessary illumination.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 27, 2000. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 27, 2020.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 27, 2022.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
