Abstract From the Canadian patent

A method of, and apparatus for, controlling the nonsymmetrical conditions of concentric laminates which occur in a direction across the flow path of a stream of laminar flowing material in molds having at least one mold cavity and at least one branching runner branching, in at least two directions. The method includes repositioning the non-symmetrical conditions in the laminar flowing material, developed as it flows within a branching runner, to a desired position in a circumferential direction around the center of the path of the runner while maintaining continuity between laminates from about the center through to the perimeter of the runner. The repositioning including favorable …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 14, 1998 and granted May 7, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 14, 2018.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 14, 2020.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
