Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention concerns a method which consists in carrying out a spectral subtraction comprising: a first subtraction step taking into account the maximised estimations (B'¿n,i?) of the noise spectral components so as to obtain spectral components (S?2¿¿n,f?) of a first enhanced signal; computing a masking curve (M¿n,q?) by applying an auditory perception model based on the first enhanced signal spectral components; and a second subtraction step which consists in subtracting respectively from each spectral component of the speech signal on the frame a quantity depending on the parameters including a variation between the maximised estimation of the corresponding spectral component of the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 16, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended September 16, 2018.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 16, 2020.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
