Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention provides methods for stabilizing recombinant Helicobacter urease by (i) contacting it with a compound that modifies an amino acid of the urease, or (ii) genetically modifying a urease amino acid. The stabilized urease is prevented from the molecular aggregation or activation (e.g. in vitro activation) characteristic of untreated urease.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 11, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended September 11, 2018.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 11, 2020.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
