No Claude kit for weapons

Claude doesn't help design weapons, ammunition or explosives, so this page has no Reinvent kit. To develop this one, work with a federally licensed manufacturer (many of these items are regulated) and a registered patent attorney or agent, listed on the USPTO roster.

Abstract From the Canadian patent

A barrel for an automatic firearm which cycles on recoil action is provided with a transverse pin (13) extending across the top of the rearward portion of the chamber. This pin nests within the extraction groove of a cartridge casing during firing. On cycling, the transverse pin (13) deflects the spent case downwardly towards an ejector (3) which effects ejection of the casing.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 13, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 13, 2019.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 13, 2021.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
